Biography
Dr. Stefan Martens is the Head of the Biotechnology of Natural Products unit at the Edmund Mach Foundation (Italy). With a career spanning more than two decades, Dr. Martens specializes in the phytochemistry and molecular biology of plant secondary metabolites. He is recognized for his "Gene to Function" research methodology and his ability to bridge the gap between academic discovery and industrial application, having co-founded several biotech ventures including Lantana Bio. He holds a Habilitation in Pharmaceutical Biology and has authored over 130 scientific publications, making significant contributions to the fields of synthetic biology and metabolomics.
